Film Review: Deconstructing Revolver (The Beatles Album)

“Revolver” is one of my favorite albums of all time. I listened to it about a thousand times in 1968. So, or course, I was very interested in seeing this movie about the album. It consisted of an investigator, Freiman, lecturing on the making of the album which was disappointing. I was hoping for a lot more visuals of them making the album. But don’t get me wrong, there were enough visuals and uber-interesting production facts and tidbits to make the movie well worth seeing. He revealed when the recording sessions were, who was there, and revealed all the envelope-pushing techniques and creative ideas that were utilized in the making of this extraordinary album. I give it 3.5 stars out of 4.
